Artopedia:A creative Confluence
Project Leader:Ms Sakshi Rohilla
Art is a form of human expression, a technique through which one can portray emotions on a canvas. It is a whole world in itself.
The manifestation of the statements mentioned above found their portrayal in the project titled Artopedia: A Creative Confluence.
This activity studies the famous traditional arts of the world, specifically those of India (Warli art), the tribal art of Africa and the folk art of Korea.
The purpose of this activity is to acquaint the students with the traditional, tribal as well as the folk art and how these art forms represent the respective countries.
Various in-house activities for the students of classes V-VIII have been planned throughout the academic session 2017-18. They will conduct a research about the history, significance and current influence of these art forms. After collecting the database from internet, they will be involved in various activities, to name a few, painting ceramic mugs, engaging in Art competition catering to the art forms in question, preparing Greeting Cards, designing and painting terracotta sheets/tshirts and so on.
Apart from learning about the various cultures, students would also enjoy being a part of the fiesta in the form of an Art exhibition. It would be an opportunity for the students as well as the teachers involved to witness the confluence amongst the various cultures as well as to strengthen bondings. They would learn to assimilate this information and utilise it wherever required in future.
As a Project Leader, I am extremely joyous and excited to embark on this new journey. It would be a learning of its kind as it will give me the platform to expand my knowledge as well as expression. Looking forward to it ecstatically!!
